In the case of children, they are most often victims of sex tourism operations.

Discuss modern trafficking patterns with a focus on domestic systems. Human trafficking is a global enterprise, and many countries may serve as places of origin, transit, and destination for victims. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) (2018), there are distinguishable global trafficking flows or regional routes based on data from countries who report incidences of human trafficking. Over the last ten years, the capacity of national authorities to track and assess patterns and flows of trafficking in persons has improved in many parts of the world.
